Fireside evening at Henriëtte’s place with amazing Afghan buffet
On the 16th of September ’08 we came together for an informal meeting at Henriëtte’s home. It was warm and informal meeting and we have got a chance to meet two new potential members! Anne Ku and Peter den Bremer came both for the first time to our club.
Anne was born of Taiwanese parents in Brunei and grew up in Okinawa. After studying electrical engineering in the US and Canada, she finished up at the London School of Economics. Now she lives in Utrecht and she lectures on business statistics at the Webster University in Leiden. She also composes music and opera’s.
Peter is Dutch and works for VastNed management. He studied economics at Amsterdam and ran the family opticians business until a couple of years ago. Peter was a member of the Rotary Club Zaandam Oost, but now lives next to Utrecht and wishes to move to another club.
And the greatest highlight of the evening was the magnificent unmatched cooking art of Laima! Laima had cooked almost all by herself a brilliant Afghan Buffet for this evening. With more than 10 different dishes!
All food was incredibly delicious and intricate, an appetizing explosion of tastes, flavours and colours. We all enjoyed the evening a lot!
