Informal dinner and talks in the Grifpark restaurant on the 24th of June 2008

This time we enjoyed warm and sunny summer weather and had a very nice informal dinner together. Because we were seated at a cosy round table, everybody was able to keep up with the central discussion. Main subject for tonight were the different cultural experiences of the members. Ramona and Marcel shared their fascinating experiences in Romania during the communist period. It was really great to hear the story from the first hands! We also heard the cross cultural experiences from Ana-Line, Elisabeth, Laima, Lya and Sonia. It was a lovely warm atmosphere and we learned a lot despite the informality of the evening.

Sonia introduces the new PR committee. Noelle, Roberto and Sonia have teamed up and are now formally the PR committee. Anyone who would like to join in, is welcome. The committee would be happy to have some extra members!

Pictures on the 8th of July. We are currently in the process of updating the website. Therefore we will make some group- and individual photo’s during the next meeting at Mark’s place, on the 8th of July. It would be great if as many members as possible would attend this meeting!

New handout for presentation of RCIU. Sonia presents a new handout of our club. In the future we would like to ask all the members to take handouts with them on every visit to another Rotary club or other official occasions. When we introduce our club to other Rotary clubs, its convenient to have something to pass on to the others. Noelle and Sonia will also make a small Power Point presentation about the club. So that we could also show something while talking about our club. The goal of the handout is to present our club, spread a word about us, since the club is still very young and not very well known. We need to promote our club and our image. Besides we are still looking for new members. The handout would help us in this.

Invitation for Meeting on the 15th of July ’08. Technical explanation of our website. On the 15th of July, at 19.00 pm all the members of RCIU are welcome to attend a meeting at Noelle’s office at Janskerkhof, in Utrecht. Roberto will give a quick introduction of our new website and how you can post pictures and articles. So anyone who would like to contribute to the website is very welcome!
