Tonight we celebrate Sinterklaas at the “Smulhuis”  with some 50 homeless people from Utrecht who come here for an affordable warm meal. Mircea takes the role of the Sint and Elisabeth is the “translator” Piet. Lya, although not living in the Netherlands that long, does a great job playing a Piet. Laima is the third Piet. Noelle and her family make our team complete. Jacco (Noelle’s husband) plays the Sinterklaas songs on guitar. This gives the evening a cheerful and lively atmosphere. Anne, who experiences Sinterklaas for the first time, surprises us by singing all the songs with us. She, as a musician, can read the notes. Mario inspires everyone by walking among the people and singing with much enthusiasm! Marc generously tries hard to get the right letter to the right person! Afterwards we enjoy a relaxed dinner in Artisjok. It is a wonderful night which brings us as much joy, as  -hopefully – it brings to the guests of the “Smulhuis”.
